At the 2022 Annual General Meeting of the Whittlesea City Basketball Association a new name, brand and logo, capturing all areas of the WCBA was presented to the members in attendance. Whilst only a soft launch at this stage, a major and exciting launch will take place on Sunday 26 February.

As part of the WCBA strategic plan on bringing together all areas of the WCBA, including developing one entity for the entire association, expressions of interest were released, for members within the WCBA community to volunteer to undertake the process.

Facilitated by Norman Arthur from mentor creative services (https://amentor.com.au/), President David Hughes and General Manager Jason Kelly, joined the volunteer group consisting of Theresa Waara (WCBA board member), Shaun Carey (Representative Junior Coach and Referee Committee member), Umberto Fato (WCBA Programs Coordinator) and Suzanne Bodley (WCBA Assistant Director of Coaching and professional graphic designer).

“We acknowledge in the past we haven’t always been united as much as we would like, however we strongly believe we will all benefit and be better if we are one. Our goal is to be one and the new branding is the first step in achieving this. We are excited to announce our new logo and brand “Whittlesea Pacers Basketball”. The new logo captures the two previous logos which were the association and representative program. As part of implementing the WCBA strategic plan, a marketing subcommittee worked on developing a new logo and brand reflective of the entire association. Whether you are playing, coaching, officiating, or volunteering, in our Junior, Senior Domestic or Representative programs, we are all part of Whittlesea Pacers Basketball.” – David Hughes President

Whittlesea Pacers Basketball will be the trading name of the association, with the Whittlesea City Basketball Association Inc remaining the registered association name with Consumer Affairs Victoria.

Over the next few weeks, you will observe a subtle changes in our branding, however, please mark your calendar for Sunday 26 February 2023.
