Yesterday Tony Martello passed away after a long fight with cancer.
Tony has been with the Whittlesea City Basketball Association since its inception in 1992.
He represented the Blazers Basketball Club as their Junior Domestic Committee member for many, many, years up until 2019 when he stepped down due to ill health.
Tony supported the WCBA’s Domestic program, Junior Domestic as a coach for Blazers and Senior Domestic as a player.
He was always willing to help the Junior Domestic during grading and grand final days handing out trophies to the children.
As a committee member, always contributing at our meetings and as I said during grand final days.
He will be sadly missed in every aspect on our Junior Domestic Committee and for the Association.
Our sincere condolences go to his family.
A great loss.
